Semaglutide are prescription medications used for weight management and blood sugar control in individuals with type 2 diabetes. They are not approved for use in type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.

Important Safety Information

Who Should NOT Take GLP-1 Medications?

Do not take compounded Semaglutide or Tirzepatide if you:

Have a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC)
Have Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2)
Have had a serious allergic reaction to Semaglutide, Tirzepatide, or any of their ingredients
Are pregnant or planning to become pregnant
Have a history of pancreatitis or severe gastrointestinal disease

Warnings and Precautions

Thyroid Tumors: Semaglutide and Tirzepatide have caused thyroid tumors in animal studies. It is unknown if they cause thyroid cancer in humans. If you notice a lump or swelling in your neck, hoarseness, difficulty swallowing, or shortness of breath, contact your doctor immediately.
Gastrointestinal Side Effects: Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, and stomach pain. These symptoms are typically mild and improve over time.
Pancreatitis Risk: Severe stomach pain that radiates to your back, with or without vomiting, may indicate pancreatitis. Stop taking the medication and seek medical attention immediately.
Hypoglycemia (Low Blood Sugar): If taken with other diabetes medications (e.g., insulin or sulfonylureas), GLP-1 medications may increase the risk of low blood sugar. Watch for symptoms such as dizziness, shakiness, sweating, or confusion.
Gallbladder Issues: Some patients may experience gallstones or gallbladder inflammation. Signs include upper right stomach pain, fever, nausea, and jaundice.
Kidney Function: Dehydration due to severe nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea can worsen kidney function. Stay hydrated and monitor for symptoms.
Retinopathy: Rapid blood sugar changes may lead to worsening diabetic eye disease. If you notice vision changes, consult your healthcare provider.

Drug Interactions

Tell your doctor about all the medications you take, including prescription, over-the-counter, and herbal supplements. GLP-1 medications may affect the absorption and effectiveness of:

Diabetes medications (Insulin, Sulfonylureas, SGLT-2 inhibitors, Metformin)
Medications that slow gastric emptying
Certain blood pressure medications
Thyroid medications
Antibiotics and oral contraceptives (absorption may be delayed)

Proper Storage & Disposal

Store in the refrigerator (36°F - 46°F).
Do not freeze.
Protect from direct light.
Dispose of needles and syringes safely in a sharps container.

Side Effects

Common Side Effects:

Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation
Stomach pain, bloating
Decreased appetite

Serious Side Effects (Seek Medical Help If You Experience These):

Severe stomach pain (possible pancreatitis)
Difficulty swallowing or breathing
Persistent nausea and vomiting leading to dehydration
Signs of gallbladder disease (yellowing skin, severe abdominal pain)
Heart palpitations, dizziness, or fainting

Emergency Situations

Seek immediate medical attention if you experience:

Severe allergic reaction (rash, swelling, trouble breathing)
Severe stomach pain that does not go away
Symptoms of thyroid tumors (lump in neck, hoarseness, trouble swallowing)

In case of overdose, call 911 and seek emergency medical care immediately.
